Several amatuer musicians began to attend the clubs monthly jamming sesssions earlier this year. These are run by Brian Taylor a very experienced tutor of music. The sessions are semi informal, and are intended for individuals to gain an experience of playing alongside others, and to improve technique. After playing together only 4 times, some of the musicians decided to form a band.

Their first live appearance was at The Swan and Royal Hotel on Friday 24th April, and it was met with a resounding reponse from the audience who were totally captivated and thrilled. This is credit to all band members and their leader Brian Taylor.

The Ribble Valley Jazz Club Band are now booked to make further public appearances, including the prestigious venue of The Grand in Clitheroe. ( there is rumour of an appearance at Carnegie Hall, but then are rumours to be believed ).

Band members are constantly rotating, so should you be into jazz, and play an instrument or sing, you are most welcome to come along around 7.30pm on the middle Wednesday of each month to The Swan and Royal Hotel, Castle Street, Clitheroe, and join the band to play with other jazz enthusiasts.
