Holmes Mill Clitheroe

JAZZ JAM - Paul Rigby Trio

Thursday 16 November 2017 From 7:30pm to 10:00pm
Venue: Holmes Mill, Greenacre Street, Clitheroe BB7 1EB
Web: www.holmesmill.co.uk | Tickets: FREE EVENT but best to book a table if dining.

Musicians can just turn up and tell the band you are there, but advance notice of tunes and the key helps (email trishferrarin@gmail.com or pjrigby40@gmail.com).

Entertaining for musicians and audiences alike, these sessions in Holmes Mill's Engine Room are proving popular so advance table booking essential if eating.

Guests and jammers who will be instrumentalists or singers, or both, will have the chance to play with an experienced backline, sharing in the delivery of tunes, and performing one or two solos. Age and levels of experience are no barrier to having a go in a jazz jam session, especially with an experienced band lead by jazz musician and tutor, Trish Ferrarin, and there is no need for potential jammers to book a spot, just turn up on the night with your instrument, and let the band know you are there. It's helpful to let Trish Ferrarin or Paul J Rigby know your tunes in advance, and the key played in.

Jam sessions will go ahead in the Holmes Mill Engine Room where accoustics are excellent, with standing room available alongside tables that can be reserved online or via a short phone call. These sessions are being managed and programmed by Ribble Valley Jazz & Blues. They are open to all who love live music. No only that, but Thursday evenings at Bowland Brewery are ‘new beer’ nights, presenting new ales brewed on site that are sure to be popular with members of CAMRA. Real ale buffs will also be able to join Bowland Beer Club, which entitles them to discount on ales not just at Bowland Brewery, but also at other places belonging to James Places.
