Ubunye + Food + Dancing + Christmas Party!

Saturday 8 December 2018 From 7:00pm to 11:30pm
Venue: SMSJ Old School Rooms, Lowergate, Clitheroe, Lancashire BB7 1AG | Tickets: Advance: £18 / Members £16 including food, dancing! Please book in advance and reserve your seats - details below... | Book Now: from The Grand's website

Ubunye, a 7-piece band, play an inspirational blend of jazz, Isiggi (traditional Zulu music), and Afro-pop. Following a sell-out gig and a knockout performance at the Jazz Festival, the band returns to Clitheroe for our RVJ&B Christmas Party

Please buy tickets in advance so we know how many to cater for and to reserve seats or a whole table of 10. Then email sarah@rvjazzandblues.co.uk with your group size and veg/meat option and we’ll reserve your seats on a candlelit table.

Members please phone or book at The Grand's ticket office.

The ticket includes a South African style curry with meat or veg options prior to the music and served from 7.30. When everyone’s full, we’ll clear the tables, start the rhythms and get dancing (bring Gumboots - see Youtube!) to the fabulous sounds of Ubunye. Expect a soulful goose-bump inducing experience!

Ubunye unites singers from Kwa Zulu, Natal in South Africa (now Huddersfield based-based) with gospel & RnB players from Yorkshire.

Imagine the raw power of African voices in harmony; the pounding rhythm of Africa blended with the explosive energy of a live band. This young and vibrant group of Zulu performers and seasoned musicians from UK reach back into the past to combine ancient tradition with contemporary flair.

It's a commercial-free, independent station playing hand-picked classic jazz spanning a classic period in Jazz history. Please listen and donate!
