Wandering Monster, an exceptional group of up-and-coming jazz musicians from Leeds were awarded opportunity to perform at high profile festivals across The North through the Jazz North Introduces scheme. The band, led by double bassist Sam Quintana, is the latest beneficiary of this pioneering mentorship & support scheme for talented young jazz musicians up to the age of 25. Sam says: “I am thrilled that Wandering Monster have this opportunity. Since formation two years ago we have developed original material ... to showcase at some of the UK’s best jazz festivals. Thanks to the scheme we can perform ... to bigger and more diverse audiences.”

Following a successful 2016 Jazz Festival appearance, Remi Harris returns to Clitheroe with his trio to present a fine guitar-based programme of gypsy jazz and blues. Remi has an exciting and unique style drawing inspiration from gypsy, swing, jazz, blues and world music. He has toured worldwide with appearances at Montreal Jazz Festival, Buckingham Palace, and on BBC Proms from Royal Albert Hall. Primarily self-taught, remi started playing aged 7, initially inspired by rock & blues guitarist such as Jimi Hendrix and Peter Green, becoming interested in jazz guitar of Django Reinhardt and Wes Montgomery from early teens.
Primarily self taught with the help of his Dad's guitar magazines and records, Remi started playing at the age of 7, initially inspired by rock and blues guitarists of the 60s and 70s such as Jimi Hendrix, Peter Green and Jimmy Page. In his late teens he developed an interest in jazz music, in particular artists such as Django Reinhardt, Wes Montgomery and Stan Getz. Since then he has been growing a reputation for blending all of his influences into his own individual style of playing.
