Jazz Jam

Raise the Roof Jazz Jam supporting NHS Charities Together

Friday 14 August 2020   From 2:00pm to 3:00pm
Venue: See below | Tickets: FREE! Listen live.

Ribble Valley Jazz and Blues Club are delighted to host an online fundraiser led by Mr Paul J Rigby from a socially distanced garden somewhere in the Ribble Valley!

Paul J Rigby – Drums; Simon Goulding – Bass; Andrew Gleave - Keyboards/ Vocals; Richard Haliwell - Alto/ Flute; James Cruickshanks - Tenor

“In these times of uncertainty, learning to live with this dreaded virus, music helps us to reflect and bring enjoyment. So with not being able to truly express our feelings and emotions since lockdown began, some of my great musician buddies and I wanted to have some fun together but at the same time show the power of our art form and share our passion and fun, bringing our musical tastes together and at the same time raise money."

Hope you will support the worthy cause whilst watching our outside performance.

"Do comment in the chat. Requests welcome. Please enjoy” - Paul J Rigby

Neil Yates & Dean Masser: The Contrafacts Quintet

Friday 4 September 2020   From 8:00pm to 9:00pm
Venue: See below | Tickets: Please see below

The Jazz Worriers @ North Wales Jazz - Joy Spring

Neil Yates and Dean Masser (formally known as The Jazz Worriers) present a new programme of all-original quintet tunes based upon well-known jazz standards. Known as "contrafacts" such compositions bring new life to familiar chord sequences, and combine the excitement of the new with the comforting familiarity of the tried and tested. Old wine in new bottles might be the best analogy.

Confirmed line-up: Neil Yates trumpet, Dean Masser saxes, Jim Bashford drums. Piano & bass TBC - hopefully Misha Gray piano and James Owston double bass.

Here's a link to listen to a pre-lockdown live performance of the Contrafacts Quintet:
